The Emergenza Rock Festival put on its first concert in 1992. Twenty plus years later it has grown in size and popularity. It holds events in over 180 cities across the globe. It is the largest and most popular rock festival for unsigned, up and coming rock bands.

During February Emergenza will be invading Tokyo, Japan. Tokyo has one of the world's best concert scenes. The city is full of small and medium sized concert halls known as live houses. Concerts in Tokyo are usually kicked off early in the evening, commonly around 7 and 8 pm.

Tokyo's concert venues number in the hundreds. They're spread over at least 30 neighborhoods. Emergenza is scheduled to hold events in some of Tokyo's top music venues. Emergenza will be holding events at the following clubs: Kinoto Club on February 1st & 2nd and the 22nd &23rd and Take Off 7 on February 8th & 9th, K's Dream on February 16th.

One thing fans can count on and look forward to is the presence of all female bands in the competition. Female rockers are popular and many in number in Japan. Though 'J-pop' is synonymous with bubblegum-sweet idol girls a rock renaissance of middle aged bands are making names for themselves in the Tokyo's music scene.

Tokyo's music scene is enriched by different genres guaranteed to make these competitions even more entertaining. Emergenza is held in elimination rounds. The first rounds judged by the attending audience and the final rounds by a panel of professional judges. All national winners are flown at Emergenza's expense to Germany for the international finals.

Emergenza and Tokyo is a combination guaranteed to bring down the house!
