In India approximately 15-18 luxury hotels have Pitch and Putt (GOLF) facilities available for their Guests. We are really surprised to see that all these properties are actually dead assets and can fetch 10 to 50 crores rupees without putting much resources’ and can develop sporting destination, said Rakesh Purohit, Secretary General of Indian Pitch and Putt Union.
These Pitch and Putt courses are only used to showcase as part of facilities available, but the truth is that this is a sporting infrastructure and need to be explored by the hotel management with its full potential. Hotels must sell Pitch and Putt club membership and organize regular tournaments.
Many of pitch and putt property owners are unaware of the fact that Pitch and Putt is an internationally valid sport recognized by the highest authority of Golf (R&A), and spreading hugely in Europe, America and in Asia; in India, Indian Pitch and Putt Union (IPPU) is apex body of Pitch and Putt sport and member of International Pitch and Putt Association (IPPA)

IPPU provides complementary support to all such property owners those want to become part of national as well as international pitch and putt arena. Mr. Rakesh Purohit of IPPU added, “Our affiliation is free of cost and we do not charge any fee for providing necessary consultancy to develop such facilities; pitch and putt property owners much approach Indian Pitch and Putt Union directly for correct information and avoid hiring unqualified consultant and pay huge fee. Our efforts are to develop and support Pitch and Putt infrastructure in India.
