Water Cube Reopens To Public After Reconstruction On July 28

After a reconstruction lasting nine months and a half, the National Aquatics Center, which is more commonly known as Water Cube, reopened to public on July 28. Since the equipments of the new Water Leisure Park were still under final checking, the park is closed and is to open on August 8. By 9:00 pm, the new Water Cube has already received 12,000 tourists.

After the reconstruction, the public available area raise up to 77,000 sq m from the previous 49,000 sq m. The newly built Water Leisure Park, which will be put into operation on August 8, will be the largest and most advanced indoor water leisure park in Asia. The Water Leisure Park is separated from outside with glass, which means that those who don't join in playing in Water Leisure Park is still be able to watch the crowd playing and feel their joy.

There are 6,000 seats preserved in the competition hall after reconstruction. The new Water Cube is still available to hold swimming, diving and synchronized swimming competitions of international level.

There are also three new exhibition halls in the new Water Cube, exhibiting how Water Cube came into being with the support of compatriots of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and Oversea Chinese and the wonderful moment of Water Cube on Beijing Olympic Games.

There are ticket windows at both sides of Water Cube. Tourists could buy visiting ticket, swimming tickets and tickets for the Water Leisure Park easily at the ticket windows. After the Water Leisure Park is put into operation, online and telephone booking of the tickets will also be available to the public. Visiting Water Cube will soon be a new choice for tourists to have a good summer time in Beijing.
