Your mum spends her whole life providing for and looking after you, so you could at least put in a bit of thought and effort on the one day when she is celebrated. So forget about having something cheap and tacky delivered and push the boat out.
If your mother is a lover of all things food and wine related, then you should seriously consider shopping with Forman & Field. They offer many different gourmet culinary options, including sweet and savoury hampers and others gifts.
If wine is your mother’s passion, then consider treating her to one of these delectable bottles of vino:
Biddenden Ortega (£10.96)
The Biddenden vineyards are situated in Kent, where there are nine varieties of grapes, predominantly German varieties such as Ortega. This award-winning wine is a medium fruity number and is great served slightly chilled as an aperitif or with poultry, white meats, salads or cheese. It is a lovely home-grown wine that makes an excellent Mothering Sunday treat.
Chapel Down Brut Sparkling Wine (£19.79)
Another English wine, this time with an added fizz. A great treat for an early morning Mother’s Day tipple or an accompaniment to a special meal. Without the overpowering fizziness you often find in sparkling wine, this gentle effort has a biscuity character. For the price, you would be hard pushed to find a better alternative to champagne.
Nyetimber Classic Cuvee (£28.55)
With complex flavours of honey, almonds and lemon coupled with the champagne grape variety, this makes a delicious wine. This wine has often beaten champagnes in wine-tasting tests and blindfold tests. It is a very modern and ‘in’ wine that is perfect as a Mother’s Day treat.
Launched in 2002, Forman & Field is a fine food mail order company specialising in fresh, traditional British produce from small, independent producers. Forman & Field should be the first place you look for Mother’s Day gourmet gift baskets or food hampers.
